People Who Drive This Car Are Most Likely To Have Speeding Tickets
Certain Cars Are More Likely to Get Stopped for Speeding, Study Says
For years, people have assumed that they know who gets the most speeding tickets. Red cars are ticketed more. Drivers of sports cars get the most tickets. Or it doesn’t actually matter what car you drive, because men get the most speeding tickets. Right?
What’s the truth? Is there really a certain type of car that gets the most speeding tickets? According to a recent study, there is.
The Most Pulled-Over Car in America
According to a new study from Insurify, sports cars are indeed the vehicles that get the most speeding tickets. The insurance company made the finding after reviewing over 1.6 million quote requests, in which applicants were required to state if they had ever received a speeding ticket.
In total, 11.28 percent of participants stated that they had. The majority of those responses came from owners of sports cars. Insurify broke it down even further. They found that the most ticketed vehicle on the list was the Subaru WRX. The Subaru was followed by the Scion FR-S, Volkswagen GTI and the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
What Type of Driver Is Most Likely to Get Traffic Tickets?
While it’s not true that red cars get the most traffic tickets, it turns out men actually do. More specifically, middle-aged men driving foreign vehicles get the most traffic tickets.
This, too, has been broken down further. Quality Planning’s analysts found that men who drive a Volkswagen GTI or Mercedes Benz CLS-63 AMG are twice as likely to get a traffic ticket than drivers of other vehicles. Those driving a Hummer H2 should be even more careful. This group is three times more likely to receive a citation.
The Top 10 Cars Most Likely to Get Speeding Tickets
The 10 cars most frequently cited for speeding include:
- Subaru WRX
- Scion FR-S
- Volkswagen GTI
- Hyundai Genesis Coupe
- Hyundai Veloster
- Subaru Impreza

It’s important to remember that people, not cars, are responsible for getting speeding tickets. The choices that drivers make behind the wheel are what causes accidents. When those actions injure another person, the reckless driver can and should be held accountable for their negligence.
